Default cheaper to buy a print cartridge?

Sorry if it's the wrong forum. This should be an easy question.

Is it cheaper to get stuff printed at 20 cents/page or print it yourself at $45/cartridge?

depends on how much you are printing, if it's a large quantity, then you might want to go with the cartridge, unless the amount of papers the cartridge can print does not exceed the amount, then the public printing is cheaper. If you are just printing a couple of pieces of paper, the public printing will be fine and cheaper.

I have to admit that inkjets by todays standards will do about 500 pages of black and white text on average per cart, which works out pretty cheap (as long as you buy your paper in bulk). Inkjet printers are pretty darn cheap nowadays as well, but be warned that the carts are manufacturer's carts intended soley for sale with the printer and are usually only half full.
