Default Black Edges On Wide Angle Lens

Just got a wide angle lens as my birthday gift. I just took some pictures with it and realized that I get these black edges:

is there any way to fix this? I don't plan on switching cameras anytime soon nor do I want to refund this lens.

im preatty sure that thats how a wide angle lense is supposed to be. some one correct me if im wrong but it basicaly creates a round image to aquire all the extra things around wrather than a streight view.

Fish eyes shouldn't get black on the corners. There should only be distortion.

Which camera and lense is that?

do you have any filters attached to the lense? or a lense hood? if so make sure they are properly attached.

there is a UV lense, it is properly attached, I tried taking it off and taking pictures, I still get the same results. The len is a opteka HD² high definition conversion lens on a olympus C-5050.

It came with a low quality made-in-China adapter(the lens was made in china also, whatever), so I replaced it with a Japanese one of the same length, I don't really think that has to do with anything.

The lense filter is most likely to small so the edges show.

i thought the whole point with fish eyes was that they DID make black edges, due to the round image?

your lens hood is too big, and is causing a vignette.
