Haven't heard that one in a loooong time...

Seriously, if you are going into graphic design and multimedia, Mac is the route you need to take. It would better suit your needs.

Hello
Well I myself is in a Digital media bachelors degree program and my program
consists of mainly of computer graphics and design, web development and design,
3D graphics for movies and games, video editing and more.
Some labs at my school has Macs, some have PCs.
Macs are great for everything except 3D for games and movies because
most of that is usually done is 3D studio Max which the current versions
(which you should be using) are only available on PCs. I dont know
which 3D program your school teaches, but another program is
Maya, but thats mainly for things like Shrek and Toy story, and
only like 5% of all 3D companys use Maya. Now what I have is I have
a good PC for games and doing my 3D work on, and I have a Mac for
everything else. If your class or program is going to be mainly 3D then
id get a PC. Especially if they are using 3D studio max. But whatever
you get , dont go to cheap, because having computer slow down problems
while you are trying to do a project for a grade will really mess things up.
Now the main reason you probably heard 3D modeling was better on PCs
then on Macs is probably because, like i said earlyer, that 3D Studio Max
is on PCs only. I think there might be some old versions for Mac, but they
are useless compared to Version 7 that is out now for PC. But i really
wish they had version 7 on mac
