Default Somewhere to get Ram?

I have a 17'' Intel iMac and I just left the stock 512mb in it...

Although it still is fast for normal things PS CS2 hogs the ram up like a mother (that and it's running through rosetta).

So, I need some more ram. Should I just order online from Apple or should I go to newegg for a better deal? What would you all suggest?

Newegg should be fine, just make sure Apple doesn't use some weird kind of RAM that you have to get thru them.

RAM is RAM. Buy it off of newegg or somewhere else. Apple RAM is too expensive.

Do you know what speed exactly that the Intel iMac uses? I know that I have at least 667 MHz but more refined (newegg wants specifics and I don't want to get something that won't fit).

Notebook memory? Is that what SO-DIMMs are?

Sorry, I am stuck in the old days of the DDR 400 (PC 3200), haven't been keeping up with Ram lately.

SO-DIMMs are notebook memory, but if you consider the size/shape of the Imac, its about the same size of a laptop (maybe a little thicker), so SO-DIMMs work perfectly for it. They also use less power, which goes hand-in-hand with the low energy consumption of the core duo processors.

The description of the Intel Imacs on Apple's site say it uses SO-DIMMs, so I wouldn't worry.
