Default Sharing a printer w/ the lone Mac ...

Hi. I have a network that consists of PCs and Unix workstations and one very lonely iMac G3. The printers are attached to a Windows box.

What would I have to do to setup the printer to be useable by the Mac? The other boxes I know how to do, but I'm newer at Macs. Well the last time I used one for anything serious was around the System 7 days & that was just some typesetting.

Thanks.

I found some info by googleing it, but nothing incredible. I'm sure it's out there. This isn't the most traveled mac fourm on the internet, so I'm sure you can find an answer, although you might not find it here.

Mac OS X 10.3 has LOTS of troubles sharing printers with Windows. You'll need to go to System Prefs-Sharing and enable Windows Sharing. Then, go to your HDD-Applications-Utilities-Print Center (it may be named something else, I'm doing this off the top of my head). Set up a new printer, specify Windows Printers (or Samba Printers, whichever) and hope your printer shows up. If it does, select it, and proceed with the rest of the steps, then print a test page. If you have any trouble, let us know.
