Default Questionon Windows XP PRo SP2 on MACBOOK

Hi guys

Im trying to install windows XP on a MacBook as requested by a client and i've seen quite a few "packageS" that can help me. mac boot camp, parralel, etc..

but before going into details of these packages, i was wondering if, i could it is similar to windows dualbooting..

basically, the idea is to create a separate partition (fat32 for mac and win compatibility), install xp there, and modify the boot sequencing etc etc.. if that's the case i can do this manually.. right? or is there something special with it?

coz it's basically an INTEL system, using a HARD DRIVE that works with intel or macs.. it's just that tehre's an OSX installed..

am i getting the right ideas here?

hmm about that. i read up on this PARALLELS for MAC VPC software and it's really nice..

sooo.. im down to 2 choices... ... .. either do a mac boot camp for native running of windows on intel-mac, but have to mess around with partitioning the hard drive, etc..

or.. use parallels system to do a virtualization, so that i need not reboot to switch between OSs...although i could imagine more cpu/ram consumption..

any ideas?

What I have done, which works well for me, is this.

I first made a Boot Camp installation of WinXP, I gave it 20GB of my MBP's 160GB, and installed it there. Allowing full native use of WinXP when required. I then purchased Parallels, and installed that. Parallels is able to use the BootCamp installation of WinXP meaning I have one copy of WinXP that is usable natively, or virtualised within Mac OSX.

As well as this, I use CrossoverMac to run Counterstrike Source, and other Windows apps within OSX.

Hope this helps,

Charlie - f
