Default Question on I Pods

I am thinking about getting and I Pod I want to get the 15 GB one since it is $100 cheaper. Is there any accesories that I need? I heard that you dont get a dock with the 15 GB so what does the dock do? Just some other questions how is the battery life since I heard that some people have to buy a whole new $100 battery and send it in to Apple to work. Also is it going to get cheaper anytime soon?

Thanks for your replies

Well the ipod comes with everything you need to get it working, including the docking cord (not cradle). This cord plugs directly into the bottom of the ipod and only have firewire and USb2 output. No audio out, like on the dock. So essentually you dont get the fanciness of the stand up dock but it works the same... unless you want to do some cool audio out stuff, then I suggest getting the dock for 39.99$.

The battery issue was pretty much solved months ago. But yes the cost of replacement is 99$ if you dont buy the 59$ Apple care for iPods, which covers the iPod for 3 years.

Well if the iPods are updated soon, then yes the older ones will be discounted.

LimeWire downloads all of your music to a 'shared' folder. If you're on a PC, this will be somewhere under your C drive (good luck finding it) On a Mac, this folder will be in your user folder under "users" But if you're on a Mac, LimeWire automatically loads your lists into iTunes so there is no hassle. Windoze on the other hand....

The Limewire share folder's path should be named in Limewire's preferences.

thanks for the help and it worked. I am looking to buy an IPod off ebay and I am wondering if the second generation is way worse than the 3rd generation because you can get the 2nd generation much cheaper. So what makes the second generation worse if anything?
