Talking Ordering iBook this week

I'm finally ordering my iBook this week, and I plan on getting the newest G4@1.2ghz with all the trimmings... But everywhere I've looked and asked, I can never find how much Total RAM the newest iBook G4's can hold. I found a link that said you can buy a 512 meg upgrade to add to the 256, but It was just on a pop-up and I didn't trust it much. But I really need to know since I'll be maxing out the RAM!

I believe the max is 640MB, not sure about that though.

Well when you customize one off of Apple.com, the max they go to is 1.256 GB DDR266 (256MB built-in & 1GB SO-DIMM).

Exactamundo.

Suggestion: Dont get apple RAM. The iBook comes standard with 256MB soldered on mobo. You can add whatever amount you want aftermarket for less cost! (it has the SoDIMM slot still free)

here's a great reference for upgrading your RAM, it will find what RAM you use in your Ibook and how much it can hold. Prices are decent also.

All-Right!!! That's what I needed to know! We're ordering from MacMall, so it'll be easy to get the maximum RAM. Thanks a bunch! I'll letcha know when it gets in! I doubt I'll be able to curb my excitement!!
