im looking into buying a mac mini. 512 ram 80 gig with a super drive. its a little out of my budget but im willing to spend it. im not sure if i want to replace the pc im using right now. i have xp home and suse prof 9.3 on it. i cant stand windows but i dont want to loose linux, and i could use xp for gaming. plus this month my high school is giving me a brand new g4 ibook with tiger on it. do you think the macmini is worth it? i really want it.

If you really want it, by all means get it. You can run certain distros of Linux on Macs, so you wont totally lose that. THe Mac mini is no speed demon but its a good entry into the desktop Mac world. Keep the laptop for school business, use the mini for experimentation and exploration into the world of OSX.

The Mac Mini is always a good investment to enter the Mac world

Yes, you can run Linux on it. Such PPC distros include Fedora, Debian, Yellow Dog, and a few others.
