Default Which macintosh desktop for my gf ?

Well my gf was asking me for the longest time If i can buy her an Apple. Since I never had any experience with Apples, only what I saw in the store, I don't know what to get her. I heard that they'r very good when it comes to reliability and not freezing and all that stuff but I'm totally clueless. She wants just a basic machine, for internet, music, movies and microsoft word. But I don't want slow *** machine, but something good. Can I get something good for $1300 ?

Oh yeah, either a 17'' iMac for comsumer level stuff (which is what I have, specs are in the sig), or you could go cheaper and get a Mac Mini so long as you have all of the peripherals (monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers).

Take a lookl through the website here:

I agree. 17" Intel Core Duo iMac is definitely the way to go. No question about it.
It costs exactly $1300, and if you order from a magazine or CDW, you can probably find some sort of free RAM deal to make it that much better.

Yup, Apple's desktops are fast, efficient, easy-to-use and sexy ... and now run Windows XP ...
