Default mac os 9

can Mac OS 9 work on a windows computer?

For example, can i have mac OS 9 and Windows XP multi-booted on my machine?

I have heard that you can run XP on a mac..

No. You might be able to run an emulator, but you cannot dual boot it. OS9 (and OSX) are written for the PPC CPU, while Windows is for the x86 CPUs.

XP running on the x86 Macs hasn't been accomplished yet, anyways. If you want to try to emulate OS9 on a Windows box you can try SheepShaver.

You could probably do it in PearPC too, but that's CPU architecture emulation, so it would run quite slowly.
