Default Mac Laptop

My friend is going to give me her map laptop that crashed and im going to try to fix it. Because its a mac, does that mean if I reinstall it, Mac needs to be installed or can i put like Windows XP or Vista on there? Thanks!

...leaving the Mac OS off a Mac is heresy.

It depends - if it's one of the new Macbooks or Macbook Pros, you can, if not, no, not without special emulation software, which I do not recommend.

Ok.. Well if I reinstalled it.. I would prob. have to go buy the Mac OS for it cuz I dont think she has it. How much would it cost? Also, could a Mac OS and a WinXP Home be linked to a home network?

Where do I buy that at?? Would a linksys WRT54G router work well?

The Apple Store (U.S.) - Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger

Any wireless router should work, so as long as the wireless cards themselves are fully supported.
