hold on...if the original poster doesn't even know what FAT is, how would you expect him to use a much more complicated OS like Linux?

what are you talking about macdude.....
Your must be sarcastic...i see....

Indeed it is very easy.........
Macdrive 6.1 does everything, from read in and writing to mac partition, to making images....
All you do is click install.exe and you already done before you know it....it even mounts to drive letter for you...

And countering you remark.....
Check out EXT2IFS, its an awesome prog that lets windows mount ext based partitions and read/write to/from them...
Installs just like macDrive and the installer asks you the drive letters you wish to mount them as.....

Very simple, even a caveman can do it....no crazy configurations required, the installers do it themselves....
