I think they will abandon PPC for good. And when that happens, the antichrist shall make us all take the mark of the beast.

2: It all depends on who you ask. If you ask any of these AMD\Intel\PC geeks around here, they will say it's good just because PCs are what they are used to.

If you ask me, I hate it because i don't like x86 anyway, and because it's not an improvement at all, though It's just my opinion.

If you ask that question, all you will ever get is opinions, reguardless of the facts.

My question is, are the programs that were tested built for the new intel chip or are they old apps, like Photoshop that are running Rosetta. Remember you will never see the real speed difference until Apps are native to the new chip.

Oh yeah, this was most definately based off tests run through Rosetta. I know that for a fact, as anything that has been released by Mac running on Intel chips is getting wonderful speed boosts.

I just messed with the new iMac today and I must say I like it far better than the old G5's. Even the 1.8ghz iMac was easily faster than the 2.0ghz G5...in every day things as well as images and whatnot.

In all actuality the switch for apple was a good thing. If you think about it when was the last time you have seen so much publisity for a mac. With Intel in Macs it gives new "mac people" a sense of comfort knowing that the same processor company that is in their old dell is now in their mac. Again, Intel is a very large company and could very well make Mac a huge competitor in the business computer world. Macs are great computers but they don't seem to sell that well in large corporations. With Intel now in the mac they have more of a reason to switch. And finally with Intel designing chips for the Mac it gives Apple a chance to sit back and grow with what its progess is in, iPod, and the OS. I mean just look at Rosetta, that is an amazing app. Just to think that is the beginning of things to come. So before you go bashing what Steve Jobs did just remember he is a CEO of a billion dollar company and you are a Techie that makes less money in a year than he does in a week. I wonder why?
