you have 2 options: You can dual-boot Windows and Mac, or you can use ONLY Mac and VirtualPC (emulate) WindowsXP under Mac OSx...you can't (currently) use Windows apps natively under Mac OSx x86

VirtualPC? Not Universal yet, and why would you need emulation, when you can us virtualization?

Parallels Workstation should be available soon enough. You would still be installing Windows though; but you'd run it within a window on Mac OS X, as opposed to dual-booting. Running at the same time is much less hassle, though you'll want enough RAM. Anyway, you should only need to open it for whatever Windows-only applications you may need.

Right on Qiranworms...I tried Boot Camp first, but it got quite tiresome rebooting all the time. Went with Parallels and am much happier. I actually hear beta 5 is on the way. http://www.parallels.com

you can take a look at mac wine....
Wine is a linux wrapper for windows apps....
Someone has been nice enough to port it to mac....you should try it....

It should run windows apps....to an extent....but you never have to see windows again.....
