Can I upgrade my girlfriends brand new IMAC Video card ?

she just got a brand new 24'' IMAC, but its only got the HD2600pro video card. Is there any way I can upgrade it to the 8800GS ??

would mac do it for me ?

you can upgrade to an 8800gt, but its extremely expensive, and not really worth it for the cost/performance you would gain. mac's don't game well.

what's the reasoning for the upgraded card?

she got the mac because she is a photographer. But she wants to Play Aoc with me

I might just end up building her her own gaming machine :rolleyes:

i don't think you can play aoc on a mac. i could be wrong though.

yeah there are tons of people playing it with quite" acceptable" performance on last years Imacs with the 2.6 dual core and hd2600 pro.....BUT "acceptable" is best left to interpretation

I just found out her computer got delivered BROKEN !

she just sent it back...and I'm hoping that I can get them to upgrade to the 8800GS card

I'm sure she will be able to at least run it well on medium graphics
