Wow... did you even look at Apple's website before you shot your opinions off? Did you even research at all? I dont mind opposition to Macs, **** I encourage disagreement and debate, but dude, please, get your facts right before you try to tell us how it is. All youre doing is throwing wood into the fire.

Arguable. That's not an objective statement.

You should really look things up before making arguments. Macs can use almost any standard USB mouse, be it a standard two buttons + scroll wheel, or eight buttons, two-axis scroll wheel, and whatever other crazy features you get on high-end mice these days.

Any laptop user? But seriously, what about the G5 Powermac, or the Mac MIni...neither of those are all-in-ones...

The problem is so many people still don't...and a lot of them aren't "*******es", they're just not as computer-savvy.

Linux has no market share on the desktop market for a few reasons. One, people don't want to bother...they buy a computer, it comes with Windows pre-installed, and they do not want to change to anything else. Two, people have the conception that Linux is hard to use and everything, and that they can't do it.

The thing is, the world of computing does not consist entirely and solely of home computers. What about corporate servers? When you look into that, numbers change...Linux has a more significant presence.

It's very hard to argue that it sucks. For example, look at the Top500 list of supercomputers, most run Linux. In fact, Windows barely exists at all. Doesn't exist on the top ten list, or the top twenty...here is an article that talks about such if you don't want to go through the Top500 list yourself.

...perhaps for you, but I'm very happy with my Linux setup, I would very much like to own a Mac, and I have no desire to start using Windows at all.

Actually i believe the breakup is something like this:

Windows 89%
Linux 6%
Mac 4%
Other 1%

Not sure if its changed lately.

A friend of mine told me that not as many people are using windows any more and more people are switching to Mac or Linux. I hope thats true because (however im not sure if it is) i believe Microsoft has too much of a Monopoly on the computer market.

I believe that if you included all sectors of the computer industry, UNIX based systems (Linux and Mac OSX included, as they are both UNIX based systems) have a very commanding lead over Microsoft.

If you take into account servers and supercomputers, then yes, Unix based systems have a verry big lead over Windows.

just throwing in my two cents,
Im a big gamer and I do alot of computer graphics
like photoshop, 3dsMax, Illustrator, aftereffects etc.
Im not a PC fan boy or a Mac Fan boy, I like both.
Both have their pros and cons. Right now I have a
nice desktop PC and a nice pc laptop. But I do prefer
using macs to do graphic design, except for 3dsmax
of course because 3dsmax is not on macs. But right
now I can only afford to have one powerful computer
so im going with a PC, something I can do my gaming on
AND do graphics on. But after I get out of school and
start working, Ill be getting a Mac for my workstation
and use my PC for gaming. I love OSX, I like it better
than windows xp by far, but for now im only using solely
a pc at home mainly because I go to school 50 to 60 HOURS
a week and do not work, therefor I cannot afford 2 good
computers, just one.

Mac is better, you can't argue about that. I use both because sometimes i need to use the pc for software i can't get on the Mac. I use my Mac for programming, graphics and some other stuff. The thing i like about the Mac is that i can just close the lid and come back and open it without having to go through the whole boot process again. I haven't restarted my Mac in months. Try that with windows for a while and things get really slow and it chokes.

But if you run linux, you can run them for ages without a hiccup.
