Default wireless range extending

I have the new Belkin Pre-n router and a pre-n card in my desktop. I need to extend the signal range by a small distance beyond what it is doing now. I understand there is a way working with a tv satalite dish. I am getting a signal at 300' but need some more strength to get thru a aluminum siding house wall. My laptop works outside the wall the desktop will not work inside.
Any thoughts?

Well if you have the appropriate connectors on your card you can use a cantenna.

If you can attach an external antenna, I would check out Hyper Link Tech.
