hmm.. i think i followed your directions right but it still doesnt work. o well, thanks for your help guys, i think ill just call the computer company. thanks.

Just to bump this topic, and see if anyone else has any insight into this. I have the exact same situation as guitarplayer. When I try either of the 2 methods given, a message says:

Windows cannot connect to the printer. Either the printer name was typed incorrectly, or the specified printer has lost its connection to the server.

neither of which are the case, of course.

I am having the same problem with no luck. Just to make sure, when you say to use the desktop name, how would I go about finding that? Also, do you have to have the firewalls turned off on the computer not connected to the printer?
