Default wireless notebook help

Ok I just had a new cable connection hooked up with a Linksys router and I have 2 desktops running fine off of it but my notebook wont comply. I have an "excellent" signal to the integrated wireless card on the notebook but for some reason the browser wont load. I tried a few things but to no avail. Can one of the tech gurus here slam me with a few ideas?

By "browser won't load," do you mean won't start at all or won't bring up a web page once started?

Also check to make sure you browser doesn't have any proxy settings set (or that it does have them if you need them).

Can you ping the router from the laptop? Can you ping www.google.com (if the first one works)?
