Hello,
I am pretty versed in computers, yet I have one weakness: wireless internet.
Ok, so I have my router - Belkin G+ Mimo Router - in my gaming room which is at the back end of the house. In the next room, my brother's computer is connected to my wireless network fine...now here's comes the problem..
Across the house, roughly 60~ft.(and about 5-6 walls) I have another computer that I need to get it connected with a decently good signal. I haven't been able to.
So, my wireless router is rated at 1,000ft. outside(should at least be able to go 60ft. inside) and yet I can only pick up about 2 bars/18% signal strength MAX. I've tried those crappy "DIY Antennas" and they don't seem to help either. I've tried the parabolic and the foil ones, none have a real impact at all. This week the computer can't even connect, it just gets stuck on "waiting for network"...
I'm using a PCI Wireless card in the other computer( EDIMAX EW-7128G IEEE 802.11b/g PCI Wireless Card) that can pick up my neighbor's signal at about 4/5 bars. I'm a bit confused here...and I've come to the conclusion it's my router.
Can anyone help me out here? Tomorrow I will be calling Belkin support and asking them about their "superb" router...
