Angry Wireless Internet HELP!

I have a averatec 3250 series laptop...mayb not the best brand but it has a wirelss internet card (intergrated) for some reason every 15 minutes or so it juss dissconnects me from the internet for a couple minutes .. its becmoing a pain becuase when i send peopl pictures and files on AIM it juss shuts me down.. real horrible any ideas?

You either have a weak signal or you have firewall thats kicking it out.

when you look at the signal, does it go from high, low, no connection, then back up?
if thats the case
try to update the firmware of the router and the intergrated PCI

cuz that happened to me before
i reinstalled the card and updated the firmware
and that should work

If it is kicking u out that means there is some interference in the media. U can try changing the channel on the router(u can use channel 11) or u can do advance wireless settings on ur router,like RTS treshold,Fragmentation threshold, Beacon interval etc.It would be fine if u can tell the current values

oh yeah, try channel 1, 6, and 11
those are the best channels to use
do you have any 2.4ghz cordless phones around your computer? or anything in between the connection of the PCI and the router?
try to remove it and try it out
