Default Wireless internet connection

I have roadrunner internet with a netgear modem. One computer is plugged directly into modem and second is wireless. Thursday both stopped working. I called roadrunner and unplugging the modem for 45 seconds fixed the plugged in computer. Didn't check the wireless at the time. Wireless has not started working. Signal bar is about 85% full, but status is unavailable. What can I do? Nobody at Roadrunner is any help I think due to it being a Mac. I'm using Airport.

hmm, does your airport have all the most recent airport updates? Have you tried accessing the network from any other computers? Have you tried reseting the airport or accessing it through the airport admin utility in the utilities folder?

Thank you for your response. I don't think I have done any of your suggestions, and am not sure how to. I only have one computer with airport so I don't think I can try accessing with another computer. But this puter which is connected directly to modem is working fine. I haven't done any airport updates. My card is only 4 months old. How do I reset the airport card?

Ah wait a second. Are you using the airport card (goes into your computer) with a different brand of base station or are you doing direct wireless to wireless internet sharing (the plugged in computer has a wireless card that shares the internet wirelessly with the other computer)?

If you arent using an airport base station then the airport admin utility wont work. I have a feeling the problem lies with the unit that is broadcasting the wireless signal.

Yes, my computer has the airport card and is getting signal from a netgear modem. It was working fine for about 3 months. Then last thurs I had the trouble and unplugged the modem. That fixed the problem with my other computer that is wired to the modem, but my wireless computer still has not internet. I kinda think it might be the modem, but the computer is getting a pretty good signal.

If the wired in computer still gets internet then its not the ports that are broken. I think it may be that the wireless transmitter on the netgear base (not modem, its a base station) may be failing. If you arent confortable with tinkering with it at all, call your local computer store and have one of their service techs look at it. It wont be cheap but it may help alleviate your problem.

I would kinda think it is the base station too. Just seems odd that I am getting a signal at the computer, but can't go on internet.

Well I still don't have it working. Been looking all over the net for answers. ARe there any other forums I might try? When I talked to the netgear woman she said I needed to call apple. Said my airport needs to be set to 10mbps and maybe that setting was changed. Anybody know how to find that setting? Also does anyone have experience calling Apple? Looks like it cost $50 so I wanna make sure it is worth it. Thanks for your replies.
