Default Wireless Internet

Hey Folks,
I havent had wireless internet in my house before, we just set it up at work, but I just have a couple of questions. I know that B runs at 11 Mbps, but do you realize any lag as far as accessing the internet, as far as downloading things? Basically, I can get my hands on a B router for very cheap, and would just like to set that up to start, but I wasnt sure if it would be to slow. The main purpose I will be using the laptop for is to VNC to my main PC which will host as a file server, so i dont think B will have a problem with that. The other thing I will be doing is playing online poker, so Im hoping that also doesnt pose a problem. Any comments?
