Default Wireless card?

I need to buy a wireless card for my new built Computer because im moving it to another part of my house and i cant run a cable to it.

What is the best, the ones that plug right into the motherboard, or the ones that plug into the usb?

also what brands do you recommend?

Appreciate the help

Default Re: Wireless card?

My personal preference would be a PCI card. As far as brands go, I personally favor D-Link hardware. If you already have a wireless router already, I would suggest that you get a wireless card of the same brand. If you don't have a router, I would recommend the 802.11 a/b/g routers. Stay away from the "Pre-N" garbage, and I think that the N standard is too new and perhaps pre-mature to jump onboard... seem MANY bad reviews.

pci cards are by far the best way to go for wireless the usb sticks i tend to find don't recive a great signal, D-Link are good, by LinkSys (a Cisco based company) are prolly one of the best around.

I would definately go with PCI, for all of the reasons listed above.

I've got a 54 Mbps and a 108 Mbps NIC if your interested.
