Ok i logged onto the administrator account deleted the password for the Comptech account that got there some how and now i am back onto the comptech account.

I ran the \\Blah.Testserver.Server1.Comptech.com and i got the name and password box and put in the name and password. and i got this error.

\\Blah.Testserver.Server1.Comptech.com is not accessible. You might not have premission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access premissions.

You were not connected because a duplicate name exists on the network. go to system in control panel to change the computer name and try again.

Well its been about two weeks now that I have been trying to figure this out on my own and I took a break for a while. So I was wondering if I could still get some help.

I'm Still stuck where I was before.

Although I dont like to recommend this, I think it's probably best:

Open Run... again, and type the following:

dcpromo

This will guide you through the uninstallation of AD. After it is done uninstalling, type dcpromo in the Run... window again to reinstall AD.

Make sure that you select the option to have AD automatically set up DNS for you.

I think that this problem is stemming from some weird DNS problem that would be really hard for me to fix without actually being there.

Sorry I couldnt give more concise advice, but like I say, it's kinda hard without actually being there.

Have a look at the Tutorials here.

They have screenshots to help, and I dont.

Hopefully that gets you started on AD.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask via a new thread or PM
