Try going to Run... again, and type the following:

\\Blah.Testserver.Server1.Comptech.com

That should (and **** well better) work.

ok it worked and all, but when the box with the user name and password came up i put the one in i did before and this message came up.

\\Blah.Testserver.Server1.Comptech.com is not accessiable. You might not have premission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access premissions.

You where not connected because a duplicate name exists on the network. go to system in control panel to change the computer name and try again.

Just to be safe, I would change the name of the WinXP computer.

Right-click My Computer, click properties, click the computer name tab, click the change button, change your computer name to something different. Then restart the computer.

I can't log into the WinXP computer now that i changed that name, it says the domain or user name is not correct. And i did not have a password set so i know its not the password.

AT the logon screen, type your normal username and password, click the options box to expand the window. THen, select "Local Computer" from the dropdown box.

I have my User name in there but when i click the option box all i get is the shut down button.
