Default will this switch work?

I have a netgear wireless router with 4 ports but i want to connect more than 4 computers (NOT wireless). Will buying this 8-port switch solve my problem?

Thanks.

that'll work fine, as long as your router will hand out more than 4 dhcp addresses or you can assign statics.

Cool. Could you explain how to set it up? I think I know how but I want to make sure:

From one of the lan ports on the router, I run a cable to the switch. Then I go into 192.168.1.1 for the router setup and then what? With dhcp enabled, will it automatically assign ip's and be ready to use?

Thanks.

Yes, just cable that switch to one of the LAN ports on the router, and everything should be good to go. I doubt you would have to check the size of the DHCP pool unless you changed that in the router... You should log in just to make sure there are enough availale addresses for each host.
