| can anybody help me adress this problem.im thinking that my router is a peice of crap but it was like 129 bucks.my PC cable internet connection works fine.i have it hooked up to my netgear wpn824 router along with my xbox360.both the pc and 360 work fine. my problem is that when i use either laptop wirelessly of course to my home network i ALWAYS lose my connection.(im getting "Excellent" connectivity by the way)usually im good for like 20 min 30 min and then boom its out and i have to unplug my router and wait for it to boot up again.ive noticed it only goes out when viewing high traffic sites like MYSPACE and sometimes SOHH. my laptop does this and my sisters all the way upstairs have these same problems.so i know its not the comps fault.wtf is up with my router.the dam thing cost 129 bucks and as soon at the laptops run into a little traffic the router just drops off like a little biatch.i don't even use my brand new laptop anymore cuz of this! anyway my cable modem speed it great my router is supposed to be really good (netgear wpn824) my two laptops are good, 1 of them brand new my PC and 360 stay online and work fine at all times ive tested my connection with the 360 troubleshooting after the laptop lost connection and the 360s passed the tests until it got to "DAT" connection or something like that. i know somebody on here knows there stuff and can help a brotha out peace |

| EagleMod | Are you using the most recent stable firmware for the router? Also, can you confirm wether or not the wired hosts work after the laptops don't seem to work?

| Interferences: nothing much you can do about this. Interferences can be any device operating within the same frequency as 802.11b/g, such as 2.4Ghz cordless phone, other wireless router, Bluetooth devices are known to jump across this frequency creating interferences, the microwave, and possibly many other things. Security features: I also notice this model has many security features, that is possibly why it's over $120. Lower your security settings, check and see what wireless security setting may interrupt your communication such as WPA and MAC address authentication. Channels: Change it to something else, you have from 1 to 11, try 1, then 6, then 11 or in between each. |
