Default What have i done to break it?

Hi,

I have just installed a wireless router for my house, and whilst i have not cracked how to get it working through the ethernet card into the desktop, my wireless laptop picked up the signal straight away and worked fine (without any setting up).

Then i thought it would be good to try and share folders with my desktop so used the network setup wizard (XP) to try and create a network, that created me a setup disk for my (windows ME) desktop, which i tried using.

What i have now found is that the laptop won't connect to the internet any more. I do not know how to set it back up because it did not need any setting up in the first place to get it working.

I am willing to leave the file sharing for now but all i want is to get the wireless internet back on my computer.

Can anyone help?

Goto start>control panel>network connections>wireless connection>right click and select repair.

Default Internet still not working

The wireless liink is working (and always has) but wheen it tries to connect the zonelabs icon that monitors traffic shows that it is sending info out but not getting any back.

The Desktop is alos running a zonelabs firewall, but i think the laptop is connecting straight to the Netgear router to the cable modem. the modem is working because my desktop has connected to the internet through it (USB though)

I had the same problem with my netgear router, but its been so long ago that i forgot what i did to fix it. I think you may need to do something with the router cd to set up a workgroup and computers
