| EagleMod | We can't really answer your question.... We need a little bit more information. What area are you in? City, state Is this for home use, or business? How reliable of a connection do you want? Less down-time and better support is expensive... You can get cable or DSL for around $50 a month, between 1.5 Mb and 6Mb, or a 1.5MB T1 line that is a couple hundred a month. The T1 will have FAR better customer support, and generally have 4 hour MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) if there is a problem, where you could be out for days with DSL or cable..... What is your budget? I am going to say that your best bet is Cable or DSL service... I can't suggest ISP's, because I don't know where you live... If possible Verizon's FIOS Fiber to the home would likely be the fastest, but I don;t know what the cost is.

| Junior Techie | Verizon FIOS is the about the fastest in my area. Well by fastest I mean for the price. It 55 megs down 7 megs up. This is also a the medium speed. There are faster one that are about 65 down and 10 up. But keep in mind this is only about $45 a month. Considering the amount of speed for cash it is well worth it. |

| kfinchie, that's an incredibly fast speed for Verizon FiOS. I know fiber has potentials to exceed beyond 55 Mbps, but you are lucky you live in that area. I'm waiting for FiOS to arrive in my area. The most I heard would be around 15 Mbps down and 2 Mbps up for $50 a month for the average home consumers. And 30 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up for $180. Last edited by Law; 03-29-2007 at 11:40 PM. |
