| Once in a great while something will download or upload at a very high speed compared to the "normal" speed. Which is extremely odd becasue it usually stays around the 3Kb/sec range. I found that this pic downloaded at around 20Kb/sec! Why is it diong that? And why doesn't anything else download at that speed? This "jpeg" downloaded at about 20Kb/sec http://www.freewebs.com/gamer_013/Images/dial-up.jpg And this happened when i was uploading a file http://www.freewebs.com/gamer_013/Images/dial-up2.jpg Can someone tell me whats giong on?? |

| My guess is that you're downloading a file that is very easily compressed. Most dial-up connections use a compression algorithm to "speed-up" your connection. For example you could download a word document that contained 1000 blank pages at much faster than your maximum bandwidth because of this compression.
