Default WebSense - 2k Unaffected?

Aighty, so our school has put their WebSense filter back up. Most retarded thing ever, in my opinion. Photobucket ("Personal Network Backup & Storage") is blocked, but Facebook isnt. Go figure.

Anyways, all our school computers use XP, which then run through a proxy (WebSense) at the school board. To get around WebSense, we just use Firefox and a proxy. However, when working on some older computers in Engineering (ones that are running 2k), we can go to any site we want, without the filter blocking it (proxy-free). Why is XP affected, but 2k isnt?

The tech guys at your school didn't probably verify that it works with 2k's networking and security stuff. So RIGHT NOW there is a loop hole. But they will son catch on. Just like websense at our school. I find a new proxy that works then they block the protocol and everything.

Any way to emulate 2k networking in XP, or change/run something to make XP look like 2k, so that the filter doesnt catch it? And the tech guy at our school isnt very smart... He's taking his CCNA certification at the same time we are, and he even gets us to "low level format" (zero the drive - he doesn't even know you can't true low level format new drives) for him. Im pretty sure they don't know too much about websense, either - it looks like they just ticked off 'block almost everything'

Thread has been closed.... Getting around a firewall or filter at school would be a violation of Rule #5
