If you have a cat 5e cable then there's no reason why it shouldn't be able to run at 100 mbps, it could take 1000mbps.

try right clicking on my computer (on desk top ) click properties, click hardware tab, click device manager, clikc the plus by network adapters, double click the network adapter, click advanced and make sure that it is on auto mode or 100mbps FULL DUPLEX.

Hope that helps.

Also, make sure that there is absolutely nothing on the hub that runs at only 10 mbps.

I've been told that there are some hubs that if there is even one item connected to it at 10 mbps, then everything that gets connected to it will run at only 10 mbps.

Try getting a cross over cable and plug it between the two computers (without hub) and then try, if so, it's the hub, if not one of the network cards is setup wrongly/broken

Easier fix...

GET RID OF THE HUB!!!

They're SLOW, outdated, and an overall pain in the side!

Go with a full duplex switch man... it's the only way and not too much more expensive...
