Default VNC & Monitoring

Lately I have seen VNC implemented as monitoring technology at our school. I would like to set up VNC at my house to learn how it works, but I have no idea how to go about it. Do you need a server, DNS, DHCP, what? I have dowloaded the free version and I would like to set it up on my Windows 2003 Server machine so I can do a mock monitor of my Windows XP Pro machine.

Thanks,
~Dante

Hi, i downloaded this today actually cos my mate uses it. Basically you run the vnc server on one computer or server and connect to it using vnc viewer from another pc. So its like remote access to that pc. If you want to see more than one computer then just run vnc server on however many you like and vnc viewer to connect to each of them from the pc you are at.
