virtual desktop?

Hi
I am running a 2 pc network using an ADSL MODEM. I was wondering if there was some program out there which would enable me to control my second pc from my first pc using some sort of virtual desktop. i mean open some sort os session to ther pc which would give me complete control over the other PC.

it seems that only
gotoyourpc & realvnc are freebies

RealVNC is multi-platform, so you can access a Mac box with a Windows box, or a Linux box with a Mac box, or whatever. It's also probably the easiest to set up, since you just install the server on the host machine, and connect to it with the client. No setup needed.
