I have looked everywhere and cannot find anything on this.

I have a user here who connects to his dell from home using the RDC.

His laptop is a Toshiba Satellite.

Has the newest version of remote desktop and all updates.

The problem here is when he tries typing across the remote desktop the letters do not match on the other end. Like if he types an "A" it shows up on the other and as a "T". This isn't a consistent problem, it will just happen when he's in mid sentence. It' bizarre. Like I said I can't find anything on this. It's driving me crazy and I don't even know where to begin.

Does anyone have an idea?

You might want to try another remote desktop connection software, such as VNC. Keep in mind that the free edition doesn't have encryption, which isn't really secure. Otherwise, you can set up a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

I haven't really used Window's own RDC program, so I can't say much on that.

I use the free RealVNC program and it works great, but like Dante_Caligari said no encryption so be sure to set up a VPN connection between the PCs. Is he connecting from Home to his Office?
