Question Turning WIFI card into AP

Does anyone know if its possible to connect my laptop to my lan, then use the laptop's wifi card to act as a wifi accesspoint? I know you can go the other way ( connect the laptop to an accesspoint then use the lan card as a router ) just wanted to know if it works both ways.

Yes you can assign a static IP to your card and make it AdHoc then click sharing tab and enable internet sharing.

AdHoc means the connection is directly to the network card on a device, an access point is NOT used.
