Default trying to connect adsl

Ive finally recieved my adsl pack and i have no idea what to do with it. i was talking to some people about connecting it and ive recieved the complete opposite to what i thought i would get.

Netcomm Adsl modem 10/100 Ethernet/USB ADSL modem with integrated router
1 micro filter Netcomm EM1100
bunch of cables
Installation CD

Ive read the book that comes with it and it explains nothing of how it works. The filter is the main concern that im having. I thought it would connect to the wall then have two seperate phone line cables (one goes to modem, one goes to phone). Instead its got one phone line which doesnt make any sense. I was just wondering if someone could show me what im doing wrong or need to get or something cuz im lost right now.

Please and Thank you.

Ok with DSL the filter gos on everything BUT the modem!, With the router you need to get into it how ever you would then look for something along the lines of a connections tab. You need to set the connection to a PPOE connection so that you can input your login/password for your dsl. Then hook computers to that and your good. P.s. always use a router with DSL, using that dsl "dialer" software is bs. The phone line im asuming is just a phone cable right? 10 to 1 says is just in case you dont have any to hook the modem to the wall. Hope that helps.

er i have a cable connection but i always thought that with a dsl line, you dont actually dial per se, but use it like a LAN connection. The router/modem config is accessible via a web browser... er, dont want to sound patronising, but when i had problems it was because i didnt want to read the manual etc... sit down with a coffee and read every word of every piece of documentation there is.... and then try.
