I need a little assistance with a T1 migration job. I
really don't know who else to ask at this point.
A company contract me out to migrate their service
provider from AT&T to MCI. This service is a T1. This
company is also upgrading from a Cisco 2600 series
router to a 2811.
Upon arriving at the site I located the At&T smartjack
and the new MCI smartjack. The AT&T smartjack is
located next to the customer equipment inside the
actual office.
However, the new MCI smartjack is located inside the
wiring closet on the other side of the building. The
new MCI smartjack is already wired to the block. It
is impractical to run cable from the new smartjack to
the new router. This would entale a long run and into
the ceiling. (The network cables going through the
ceiling now are not plenum grade....ack!)
I understand I can make a pigtail and connect the
plugged side to the smartjack and terminate on 1,2,4,5
to the block. My question is how do I get from the
block to the new router that is on the other side of
the property.
Anyone with experience installing T1 lines is encouraged to respond.
HEEEEELP!!!!
Sincerely,
Erick Borgard A+, CCNA
