Regulus

Default Sygate

This is a firewall that my bro's hacker friend suggested I use. But, when I dled it, my comp started restarting randomly. I uninstalled it, and no probs. Anyone know if there is a setting that restarts the comp if you go somewhere?

right click my comp, click properties, click advanced tab, click startup and recovery, uncheck automatically restart computer after system failure, click ok, click ok, click yes to reboot.

its prolly blue screen'ing and auto restarting. i had a similar problem where sygate was causing IRQL_NOT_EQUAL_OR_LESS blue screens on boot. i uninstalled the product and now no more blue screens.

Or just use zonealarm firewall. I love it. Been runnin it for about a week of 24/7 uptime with my new DSL connection. No problems / intrusions yet. Couple it with AVG free virus scanner and thats a pretty solid defense for your PC. I'd go this route if sygate still causes you problems after u try csamuels fix.

Yes I feel ZoneAlarm is better than Sygate. I've used it for years, and yeah couple it with AVG for excellent protection.
