Your max connection speed is limited by what Standard your using for wireless.

You cannot increase the max speed unless you upgrade the equipment.

Besides you never get what is advertized anyways.

54Mb is slower then 11MB
Mb is Mega Bites, MB is Mega Bytes. Bytes are Larger then Bits.

ok if i want ot add a wirelss router with adsl modem will his increase speed and i have been looking on the net ofr one but im a bit muffled

i have one computer downstairs with no phone cabels or nothing so it wirelessly shares internet froma my computer upstairs which has to be on at the same time. my computer upstairs is connected to broadband via modem and not a LAN cable. all the routers i find you need a LAN cable not modem...plus will buying this router alliminate the problem of having to have my computer with intert conneciton on at the same time as my other pc to share conncetion?

Buying a router would elminate the need for ICS.

Correcting Myself you have a 11Mb wireless connection so 54 Mb is faster. The standard you using is IEEE 802.11b.

So no adding an adsl router will not increase your Speed. Like I said the maximum connection speed is limited by your equipment. Your PC uses a wireless card that is IEEE 802.11b (Im guessing) so you are limited to 11Mb/s.
