Default Someones connected to my router?

I have pc cillin and it says that 3 computers are currently connected to my network when it normally says 2 My moms and my desktop. I'm on my laptop. But I was wondering could this other one be caused by a phone or something. Or is someone in my area using my wireless? I cant tell what the heck or who is using it it has almost the same ip as the other 2 computers and for device where it says the name of the computer it just says invalid.....

Do you have security set up? I know my wireless router uses WEP/WPA.

Take your laptop outside and walk off the perimeter of your wireless. If it falls where someone can get it... there ya go.

Disable everything that has to do with firewall on your router, and look at the routing table.
Run ip config, and make sure to send a DOS attack to the foreign ip address.....

lol, extreme but i like it.

I dont know what pc cillin is but anyway... If your laptop, your desktop and your mum's compyter all connected to the network does this not account for the 3 computers?

if it is wireless then set up WEP or better WPA, it'll encrypt the data sent over your wireless network, otherwise anyone in close proximity can listen to everything being sent over your network.

It is also possible that someone living nearby has accidently connected to your network, since you have no security enabled to stop them this could easily happen. so perhaps not a great idea to take shdwsclans advice right away.
