Im sure you will get a lot of replies to this one but here are some options.
1. Hook the laser jet to one computer be it parallel or usb and share it out. The issue with that is that computer has to be on for anyone to print.
2. Do some reseach, I know iogear sells network printer devices (I have one). Its no bigger than a matchbox and it has just enough room for a usb cable and an ethernet cable. It gets the IP from the network and turns your regular printer into a network printer with a valid IP address.
3. If its a high end laser jet it may already have a NIC card in it. If not one can probably be purchased for it. Then you can hook it up directly to your network as a network printer.

easy, go to start, settings, printer and faxes (where you have it installed) right click the printer icon and click sharing. once it is shared out (with a hand under it) other computers will see it shared through my network places or network neighborhood. all they have to do is right click it and hit connect. It should bring the driver through the network also and during the process it will ask the user if they want to make it the default printer and print a test page.

If you are sharing the printer on a server box then you may have to click the permissions button on the security tab and set some additional privledges so everyone can see it.

when setting the printer up did you set it to have a i.p address ?? because whenever i done it, in the setup it asked if i wanted it as a local or network printer....once you asign the i.p address on your 192.168.***.*** range you should be able to go to start > run > cmd. Then try pinging the i.p you gave it...once you get a respose you go into start > printers and faxes > add a printer > add a network printer > put \\servername\printername....and it should work like that

let me know how u go

His printer is plugged in USB, it is not a network printer.

He can still go through the add printer wizard and pick network printer and browse his network for the shared one. Though, if he cannot see it in My Network Places, the wizard will not see it either

he should be able to go to the other computers and put in \\nameofhiscomputer\printer name...and it should still work
