Default "The server www.routerlogin.com at WGR614v7 requires a username and password"

WTF is this? I got a new netgear router and now it asks me to put in a username and password? WTF is this some sort of a sick joke? How am I supposed to know what to put in?

ok this wasnt always my laptop maybe the previous owner(a sibling) had a router installed prevously? i dont think so but whatever. how can i rectify this problem?

whats the router model number?

routers come shipped with a manufacture default password, so this isnt a joke

heres a website with a list of a lot of routers and their defaults users and passwords: Default Router Passwords - The internets most comprehensive router password database

hope this helps, but i reckon the most default you can get is:
user: admin
password: password

OK I fixed THAT problem, and now it has given me a new problem!!! Great!!!!

Now it is "we are not able to connect to the server with your current settings" blah blah blah "restart your network in the correct sequence shown below" blah blah blah. I did what it told me and restarted in the sequence shown and it still doesnt work, gives me the error message every time.
