Default Router Problem HELP PLEASE

My router randomly won't let me access the internet, my friend tells me it is my computer settings but i'm not good with routers this occurs when i do not use the internet for some Periods of time and makes me reset my router and i get that great old page Internet connection problem If you do not understand what i am saying please notify me :P i will try my best to explain

Try going into the command prompt and typing:
ipconfig /release (then hit enter)
ipconfig /renew (enter again)
should save you having to reset and wait as long.

Argh, matey!

In ye control pannel open network connections, den right clack da appropriate connection and den clack properties. Argh! In da general tab yee will find da name of da network adapter clack configure, den in the advanced tab ye will find das property and value keep looking in property until value is Ad Hoc or infrastructure if ye be trying to connect to a main computer.

Dis may fix yer problem, or this old pirate maybe ramblin...

Argh!!!!
