Default question

what is the reason that i cannot see 2 win2k computer behind the hub cannot see each other on the My network places but can ping each other?

and what does 'request times out' means while pinging?

Is firewall villain? i have set my LAN on the trusted zone on the firewall. I am irrited really, same problem never ends.

Also, make sure both PCs are in the same network workgroup. It also is more or less required that each PC has accounts with the same name and password on each machine if you plan to be able to write to the remote PC's shares.

You'll need to get ping working first before you worry about the workgroup.

You should get

reply from x.x.x.x: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=127

or something similar from ping (in Windows) to indicate that it is working
