| I bought a Dlink 604 broadband router. I have not set it up yet because I've heard that once you've installed a router, you're limited in what i can do with the computers. I can't even play Counter-Strike, or send files using ICQ. Is this true? If so, how can I get around that? Or I really can't? |

| Not True,, Configuration is the key,, ensure all the PC are in the same scope, Net mask, gateway, Workgroup, etc,, and you will do fine,,, A router is just a smart box that is more precise in connecting PCs,,however, if you are not in that "neighbourhood" ,, the router will block your transmission,, and will give you some of the errors that you mentioned,, research the instructions, and do a good job cheers,

| Watch it though - i can play games, but sending and recieveing files over AIM is tough sometimes. Also, you CANNOT file shar on IRC. Whoever argues that i want you to find out how - i have a linksys and for the past 3 years i have tried to figure it out - the best explenation is that you cannot have a shared ip address in irc. But like Crash said, configuration is the key.
