Default problem networking winxp and win2k

g'day people,

I have two computers at home. One win2k pro, one win xp pro. They can't see each other. I used the connection wizard in win xp but is still doesn't work. Here is how it's wired up:

winxp box: one network card going to linksys hub, one network card attached to cable modem.
win2k box: one card connected to linksys hub.

I have the winxp set up as the host and the win2k as the client. The client can see the host but is denied access to the machine. and vice versa.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

cheers all

I recently had the same problem trying to network a XP Pro with an ME edition. The only way i was able to get round the problem was to upgrade the ME one to XP.

Is the Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall disabled?
Can you access the internet from both machines?
