Default portforwarding

when i try and forward a port it asks for the port numbe etc.. in my router but also an IP, what IP do i put it? its to allow me to host a game. it wont let me forward a port without an IP and i am following the guide on portforward.com

i have my router IP:
10.0.0.2
my computer ip 10.0.0.10
and my external: 86.xx2.xx.1x2. LOL censored

Hello,

If someone wanted to find out your external IP address they could do it pretty easily :tounge:.

You enter the IP address of the computer in question.

**** i just worked out i dont have a static IP.

this i sall well and good as im not a complete tard but when i follow the step to set up a static im still getting IP's like 10.0.0.64

when i loginto my wireless router is has alot of option about IP's that kinda throws me off. ill post some screenies.

There is NOTHING in the router that you need to do to get a static IP on your computer. As you mentioned, you have to go into the computer's TCP/IP properties for the network card you are using, and set up the static IP...

In your case, you will want to have the settings for the computer be:

IP Address: 10.0.0.xxx
Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0
Default Gateway: 10.0.0.2

Also, according to your IPCONFIG /ALL screen shot, you are already at 10.0.0.10. If you are wanting your WAN IP address to be static, your ONLY option is to call your ISP and have THEM set that up, but know that many ISP's will charge EXTRA for this.

thanks, no i just need to forward a port and portforward.com said i need static ip so i followed the tut and 10.0.0.XX looked wrong so i though maybe i messed up or my router needs changing. Thanks
